We don’t allow anyone to just give up—we work with clients to make sure they receive the best care possible and are prepared for the real world. Here, staff aren’t just observers—we join groups, stay involved, and make everyone feel welcomed.”

For Danise, this work is more than a career—it’s a calling. Having lost a sister to addiction, she brings both empathy and personal insight to the role. “Helping others gives me purpose and makes each day meaningful. My sister simply needed a little more love, care, and compassion, and I carry that with me in the way I serve others today.”

Outside of work, Danise finds joy in spending time with her four children, who bring her endless happiness and inspire her every day.

Drawing from his own experiences, Joseph understands how challenging it can be to navigate life after stepping back into society, and he is committed to helping peers make positive, independent decisions while offering the tools and support necessary for long-term success. For Joseph, it’s vital to be part of the solution and help peers reclaim their lives.

Outside of work, Joseph enjoys teaching Sunday school and cherishes time with his children as a devoted dad, bringing the same care and dedication to his family as he does to his peers.

John Fitzsimmons is a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor II (LCDCII) at Ray of Hope Behavioral Health, where he provides evening group counseling for our IOP program. “Since March 2021, I was inspired by a counselor in treatment who said I needed to help others in order to help myself.”

He is passionate about encouraging clients to take control of their own recovery, showing them how making positive changes can bring lasting benefits. John’s personal experience fuels his commitment to helping others avoid the mistakes he’s made in the past.

John’s advice to anyone considering treatment at Ray of Hope is simple: “Give ROH an honest try and just a little time for the miracle to happen.”
